Announcement! Worldchefs and Sinoexpo Reach Strategic Partnership – Worldchefs Global Championship Confirmed for HOTELEX Shanghai 2027!

Worldchefs and Shanghai IM Sinoexpo International Exhibition Co., Ltd. recently have reached a strategic partnership to host the flagship event—Worldchefs Global Championship—at the 35th HOTELEX Shanghai International Hospitality & Catering Expo, taking place from March 30 to April 2, 2027, at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai).

This marks the first time this prestigious event, hailed as the “Culinary Olympics,” will be held in China. It also represents a six-year strategic commitment between Worldchefs and Shanghai Bohua Exhibition—spanning 2027 to 2031, the championship will be hosted at HOTELEX Shanghai for three consecutive editions, creating a powerful alliance to build the world’s premier platform for global culinary competition and commercial exchange.

As the authoritative global body for the hospitality industry, Worldchefs was founded in 1928 and represents millions of culinary professionals across more than 100 countries. The organization is built on four pillars: culinary education, global competitions, sustainability, and professional networking, all aimed at driving excellence across the industry.

The decision to partner with HOTELEX Shanghai reflects Worldchefs’ recognition of the expo’s 30+ years of deep market presence in China and its powerful influence as “Asia’s Premier Trade Show for Hospitality & Catering.”

“This is a pivotal step in Worldchefs’ global strategy,” said a representative from Worldchefs. “Shanghai, as a global culinary capital, and HOTELEX Shanghai, as a commercial bridge connecting China with the world, will help us elevate the Global Championship to new heights and foster deeper cultural exchange and integration between Eastern and Western cuisines.””

According to the event plan, the 2027 Grand Finals will feature a dedicated competition hall in Hall 6.1 of the National Exhibition and Convention Center, showcasing 3 themed culinary arenas with a total of 24 standard competition kitchens.
